Runestone project and Ordinals developer Leonidas Leonidas believes that Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, is probably aware of the meme coin trend if still alive. Leonidas took to social media to state that it is “almost certain” Satoshi is aware of the DOGE meme coin, which has revived interest in the Runes Protocol. This new standard of tokens, created by Casey Rodarmor, enables fungible tokens on Bitcoin. Although Bitcoin fees initially surged after the protocol’s launch, the enthusiasm gradually faded. However, DOGE’s price recently surged by 24%, rejuvenating investor interest. This surge pushed DOGE’s market cap close to $800 million, bringing it near the top 100 cryptocurrencies.
