Bitcoin Cash Founder Roger Ver Praises Dogecoin (DOGE).

Roger Ver, the co-founder of crypto startup Blockchain.com and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), said the popular meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) is a better cryptocurrency than top asset class Bitcoin (BTC) due to its technical prowess in facilitating transactions.

Speaking in a recent Bloomberg interview, Ver, 43, noted that the popular memecoin is “significantly better” than Bitcoin because it is reliable and cheaper to use.

Ver, who used to be one of the early proponents of Bitcoin, said he stopped being a fan of the world’s largest cryptocurrency because it deviated from its original purpose of becoming an alternative currency.

Following his lack of support for Bitcoin, Ver noted that if he is given the opportunity to choose three alternative digital currencies to the world’s largest cryptocurrency, he would choose Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Litecoin (LTC).

“Dogecoin is significantly better. It’s cheaper and more reliable. If I had to pick three contenders [for the world’s dominant cryptocurrency], they would be Doge, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash,” Ver said.

According to Ver, he holds a significant amount of DOGE in his portfolio, as well as Ethereum (ETH), and BCH.

“I am definitely a cryptocurrency whale still,” he said. “I’ve always had a wide assorted basket in cryptocurrency. I was never a Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash maximalist.”

Dogecoin, which launched in 2013, has been widely adopted globally due to the massive support behind it, including from cryptocurrency proponent Elon Musk, who recently received the green light from the Twitter board to continue his move to acquire a 100% stake in the social media company.

Ver also finds Musk’s effort to buy Twitter a pleasing development, as he believes the Tesla CEO and founder will end censorship on the microblogging platform.
