Death Stranding 2’s expected release date announcement did not make it to the Tokyo Game Show 2024 platform. Hideo Kojima, addressing the issue, says that the release date will be revealed in 2025.

Death Stranding 2 presentation was held for 90 minutes on Tokyo Game Show by PlayStation. Hideo Kojima, the designer of the game, mentioned that the release date will be announced in 2025. He hinted that the initial plan was to announce it on September 29, at the Tokyo Game Show event. However , “due to unforeseen circumstances,” he explained that the release date could not be announced at the moment.

There was no more elaboration on the circumstances, but Kojima said they are already preparing for the announcement to eventually take place in 2025.

It is to be noted that the initial part of Death Stranding was also released approximately 6 months of its announcement. The part two of this franchise could be following the same path. Moreover, the holiday season falling between October – December is anyway lucrative for the sales of games.

Death Stranding 2 will have hyper-realistic photo mode

Apart from the queries regarding the release date, some other announcements took the attention, making fans even more excited about Kojima’s game. One of the features was the photo mode, which revealed Elle Fanning as Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsana as Rainy posing for the polaroid. The final result of the pictures is so realistic that it makes one believe that it’s actually real.

The title of the song is Horizon Dreamer sung by Daichi Mira who is a Japanese singer. Additionally, fresh footage from the game was also showed in the event.

Death Stranding 2 will be exclusively launched for PS5.  However, it is to be noted the original part was released for PC just after 8 months of its release on PS4. Sony’s growing interest in publishing on multiple platforms may give a way for the game to be available on PC soon as well.
