The Japanese public company Metaplanet has purchased an additional 23.351 Bitcoins worth $1.6 million. These Bitcoins were acquired at an average price of 10,706,180 yen per Bitcoin, with the total amount purchased being 250 million yen. Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at 141.0727 Bitcoins, with an average price of 10,278,391 yen per Bitcoin, amounting to 1.45 billion yen. This follows their previous disclosure on May 28, 2024. Notably, Metaplanet is adopting Bitcoin as a reserve asset to hedge against Japan’s debt burden and yen volatility.
