Nav Welcomes Experian’s Jacob Kong to Board of Directors

PR Newswire

Nav, the leading credit and financial health platform for small businesses, announced that Jacob Kong, Chief Business Officer of Experian Consumer Services, has joined the company’s Board of Directors.

“On behalf of Nav and our Board of Directors, I am excited to welcome Jacob,” shared Levi King, Nav CEO, Co-Founder, and Chairman. “Jacob’s wealth of experience and expertise in the credit industry, especially in the consumer space, will be of utmost value to Nav in the coming years, as we work to weave together the power of personal and business credit to help business owners in one seamless experience.”

Since 2013, Nav has been on a mission to give every small business owner the chance to succeed, providing a dedicated space for building and managing business and personal credit, tracking cash flow patterns, and understanding financing options before filling out an application. As of the end of 2024, more than 2.4 million small business owners have trusted the company with improving their credit and financial health. Experian has occupied a seat on Nav’s Board of Directors since 2016, when it became one of the company’s leading investors.

“I have been a huge admirer of Nav for years,” said Kong. “The virtual ecosystem that the company has created is incredibly unique in how it serves business owners across multiple facets of business. I’m excited to join the board and I look forward to playing an active role in helping contribute to the success of the company. In my opinion, Nav has the key components for success — clear strategy, invaluable products, thoughtful services, momentum, and a team full of grit. I am confident that we see great achievements from the company in the coming years.”

Kong will serve on the Board of Directors alongside King; Jade Mandel, VP of Goldman Sachs Growth Equity Team; Randy Komisar, Partner at Kleiner Perkins; and Janet Zablock, former Head of Global Small Business at Visa.

The addition of Kong to Nav’s board, follows two other recent additions to its leadership team. Earlier this year, Nav welcomed Grace Liu as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer and Raquel Alexander as Chief Marketing Officer. The addition of Liu and Alexander rounded out the company’s senior leadership team, which also includes: Levi King, CEO, Co-founder & Chairman of the Board; Gian Perrone, Chief Technology Officer; Landon Pearson, Chief People Officer; Mac Cormier, SVP Product & Design; Joel Jensen, VP of Revenue & Partnerships; Andy Anderson, VP of Finance; Rebecca Sandberger, GC & VP of Legal and Compliance; and James Rauen, VP of Data.
