STRK recovery stalls as Starknet suffers network outage after Grinta upgrade

The Starknet community welcomed September with a positive note as the L2 platform officially released the v0.14.0 upgrade – known as Grinta.

The new features aimed to make the STRK ecosystem more decentralized, faster, and smoother for users.

Excitement dominated the community, with some praising it as “Starknet’s most ambitious upgrade yet.”

Others expected Grinta to trigger a ‘Starktember’ where the project leads crypto trends and price performance this month.

However, the Starknet network went offline hours after the Grinta launch, catalyzing concerns over reliability and stability.

STRK’s blockchain explorer, Voyager, shows the Layer2 platform has been offline for more than three hours.

What does this outage mean for Starknet users?

The downtime has left the network unresponsive, with individuals failing to interact with the blockchain.

For instance, no one can send or receive funds as the system fails to process transactions.

Users will face delayed or failed swaps, while dApps, games, trading platforms, and wallets within the Starknet ecosystem remain non-functional.

Lastly, testers and builders have paused until network recovery.

Starkent’s response

The L2 project has acknowledged the outage on X, urging patience while promising a swift resolution. They said:

Starkent is currently experiencing downtime. Our team is actively investigating the issue and working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible. We’ll share updates as soon as we know more.

The announcement confirmed what users had experienced: an inaccessible network.

Meanwhile, the damage is already noticeable as negativity swirls around the community.

Frustrations boil over

Besides service interruptions, Starkent’s service outage after the Grinta upgrade deteriorated confidence among the community.

One user criticized the blockchain for its recurring struggles.

He highlighted that the team delayed the v0.14.0 upgrade three times, only to crash hours after going live. The user stated:

Starknet is the dumbest project I’ve ever seen. Version v0.14.0 was finally launched yesterday after three delayed releases, but now it’s down.

Such blunt criticism reflects user frustrations, especially as the community believed Grinta would stabilize the Starknet platform and fulfill long-standing promises. Instead, the wait continues.

STRK price outlook

The technical glitch spilled into the price charts. STRK had displayed bullish signs after Grinta’s launch.

However, it has lost the upward momentum as sentiment flipped negative.

STRK is now underperforming the broader market.

The value of all digital tokens increased by over 2% to $2.81 trillion in the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin is targeting short-term uptrends after the latest slump.

On the other hand, Starknet exhibits a modest 0.57% gain on its daily chart.

STRK hovers at $0.1236 and might dip in the next few sessions unless the team solves the outage.

Magnified negativity within the community could push prices toward early August lows of $0.1133.
