The Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) of the Netherlands announced the arrest of a 29-year-old developer, suspected of having links with US-sanctioned crypto mixer Tornado Cash.

Facts so far:

  • The suspect has been arrested for “concealing criminal financial flows and facilitating money laundering through the mixing of cryptocurrencies.”
  • The Financial Advanced Cyber Team (FACT) of FIOD suspects Tornado Cash has been involved in concealing large amounts of “criminal money flows.”
  • Multiple arrests are not ruled out.
