The native cryptocurrency of the Graph network, known as Graph tokens (GRT), powers its decentralized indexing technology. GRT tokens are an essential part of the Graph ecosystem and allow for a number of network functions, such as improving network security, rendering governance choices easier, and compensating node operators for indexing and querying data. GRT coins are expected to play a significant role in enabling data querying across several networks, including Ethereum, IPFS, and POA, with plans to expand to other networks in the future. At the mainnet launch, there will be a total of 10 billion GRT available, of which about 1,245,666,867 GRT will be in circulation initially.
